Are there decisions a guardian is not allowed to make?
There are number of decisions the Guardianship of Adults Act 2016 say guardians are not allowed to make.
As a guardian you are not allowed to:
- Vote for an adult
- change an adults will
- go to court for the adult
- agree to ‘restricted’ health care decisions on behalf of the adult
- make decisions about the adult’s children
- make decisions about the adult’s personal relationships such as who they marry or divorce.
