World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD)

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) occurs on 15 June 2025, and raises global awareness about elder abuse, a critical issue affecting millions of older adults worldwide. At the PGT, we are committed to supporting older Territorians by working closely with providers, individuals  and families to prevent and address all forms of elder abuse, including financial, emotional, and physical mistreatment.

As Australia’s ageing population grows, it’s crucial that we continue to create safe, supportive environments for seniors. We encourage everyone to join us in raising awareness this WEAAD and promoting respect and dignity for older people.
